Implementation of ISO 9001 : 2000   – Bank of China  Group Insurance Company Limited 
      Background  
        Bank of China Group  Insurance Company Limited was established in  July 1992. It mainly underwrites general insurance business and provides  professional services and comprehensive coverage to customers. Since its  establishment, the Company strives to achieve 'Service Excellence, Product  Diversification, Accountability and Customer Satisfaction' by making effort in  developing sources of business, implementing risk management, and adjusting  effective marketing strategies. The Company earns good reputation in the  general insurance market and society. It has been in the forefront in the Hong  Kong general insurance market for over 10 years. 
       
        The need  
        Bank of China Group  Insurance Company Limited wanted a system in  place to help them manage their growth while maintaining control of quality,  explains Management Representative - Howard Shum. He recognized that "growth was not  possible without a quality system model," and ISO 9001:2000 provided the model  that suited his company's needs.  
       
        The solution  
        Our first task was to help Bank of China Group Insurance  Company Limited gain a better understanding of their customer’s requirements  and their existing process. A detailed process analysis was  undertaken to identify and quantify areas where there is a disparity with the  ISO 9001:2000 requirement. Following this we developed a ISO 9001 :  2000 Implementation Plan focused on enabling the business to achieve  its long-term growth objectives and to fulfill the ISO 9001:2000 requirement.  Working with the Bank of China  Group Insurance Company Limited team, we recognized that it was  imperative to provide a flexible yet focused  quality management system in keeping with the company’s unique structure and  culture. 
        The key elements of this framework  included: 
      
        - Developing  new long-term objectives focusing on the most critical customer requirement.
 
        - Documentation  of the company's quality management system.
 
        - Investigation  into the existing processes and recognizing the difference in between the ISO  9001:2000 requirement.
 
        - Provide  training to relevant staffs on ISO 9001 Standard Requirement and to obtain  Internal Auditor Certification
 
        - Provide assistance  throughout the implementation stage of change management.
 
        - Provide assistance  throughout Internal Audit
 
        - Provide  assistance throughout the certification form the Certification Body.
 
       
        
      The result
